Hello again,I have picked up the following by opening the=20driver install (168v5.18.1101.101.exe) file in a=20text editor, which suggests a link with Sonix and=20USB PC Camera-168 and EngineVersion=3D12.0.0.58851.As I am not a programmer I am including a few=20more lines. Please excuse me if they are not=20relevant. Dear Macam developers,I have purchased the camera below. Hi Thomas,Thanks for your detailed report.I am guessing that your camera has a sensor that isvery slightly different from the one in the code.Other OV519 cameras do work, so yours is very close! It should be possible to figure out which sensor you have, and to initialize it properly (I am guessing that this is wherethe problem is). I will soon make a 'debug' build availablethat will generate even more information! You should be able to compile on your machine if you wish, although there is probably some complication.I'll let you know when a debug build is available. Thanks,HaraldOn Oct 25, 2007, at 5:56 PM, Thomas Hickethier wrote: Dear developers, I'd like to support you (and me) in testing the macam driver with the Live!

Hi,The web-cam camera I recently purchased seems to be top class cameracomparable with isight (maybe even better). However connecting it tomy G4 700Mhz iMac (OS-X 10.4.10) does only give me a small picture.Reading your web-site I saw that you are still trying to figure outwhat the controller is of this camera. I do not know much aboutdivers and controllers. But I was wondering if there is a way toassist you in this matter. Can I send the windows drivers for exampleor test a few things maybe anything else that might help you. Pleaselet me know.Macam did not give any result yet, but that is something you probablyalready knew.Cheers,RobertGreat initiative, very much appreciated.

It says 'Unknown USB Audio Device'.The problem may be that I saved 'macam'in the application folder, butthe folder 'macam source' and the folder 'drag component into here!' So, I have things working now to be able to select between differentcameras (thanks Harald!)The trick now is that I actually want YUV data. I'm pretty sure thecamera I'm using (Communicate STX) sends a stream of jpeg images, andjpegs internally store the image data as YUV.
So if there was a wayto get these original JPEGs straight from the camera, or decompressinto yuv instead of rgb, that would save me the computation of havingto do a color space conversion back again.Right now I'm using a call to SGSetDataProc to get a call back withthe image data, and then SGGetChannelSampleDescription to check theimage format. For iSight this is conveniently 'Y'CbCr 4:2:2 - uyvy'aka '2vuy' / k422YpCbCr8CodecType. With the STX, I'm getting 'RawRGB data' aka 'raw ' / kRawCodecType. Under video4linux, there's away to request the system send yuv images instead of rgb, so i'mlooking for something similar here. One idea I had was to use SGSetVideoCompressorType.
